This blog is a place for me to share beautiful, well-designed things. By things I mean anything that catches my eye within a wide range of interests - art and architecture, fashion and jewelry, typography, useful household items, interior design, landscape design, photography... you get the idea.

peace and quiet
I am on vacation next week. I will be relaxing peacefully in a cabin on a lake in the adirondacks. It will be cool enough for jeans and sweatshirts at night. I have a stack of books to read and plan on good food, card games, hiking, swimming, and general silliness.
Have a good week.

world map
I saw this amazing letterpress world map on Design Sponge recently. I love the use of color and the simplicity of the patterns.
Beautifully designed and beautifully printed!

more texture
Think Design has some great summer garden texture photos available for download. They are inspiring me to take my camera outside more this summer. If only it were slightly less hot!

garden photography
I stumbled across a guest blog on Studio G by Stacy Bass with tips on floral photography. I think her work is amazing. The colors are incredibly rich and she embraces negative space giving her pieces so much depth.
Stunning, don't you think?

red, white, and blue
Here are some Martha Stewart desserts in celebration of our nation's independence. Does anyone have time to make things that are this beautiful and edible too? I don't, but I do like to admire them.
I'm very ready for a long 4th of July weekend.
